Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ): a self-defence martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting, and submission holds. BJJ approaches self-defense by emphasizing taking an opponent to the ground, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission via joint locks or chokeholds. Taught by: Sam Tuesdays & Thursday 7-9pm Saturdays 9-10am
Dance fitness: an exercise that engages the entire body as well as the mind. Learning and remembering choreography keeps your brain active while constant movement addresses your heart, circulation, balance, muscles and joints. Dancing kills calories, and it is fun to boot! It’s great exercise for both men and women. Taught by: Don Wednesdays 5pm-6pm
